Agent OO: Olympia Organa is the next installment to the Modernizing the Masters collection by artist Chris Hawks. A reinvention of Edouard Manet's classic masterpiece. This parody remake was hand painted from scratch with "the new way" of "The Prestige Technique". Prints of the painting are available in 3 sizes and are signed by the artist.

More about the art, and how it is crafted:

Modernizing the Masters is a growing collection of art works created by artist Chris Hawks. The iconic image of a classical masterpiece is modernized with a parody reimagining of famous icons from pop culture. The series started in 2013 with the Vitruvian X Man, and has been steadily growing into the Mona Mystique, Birth of Cthulhu, Transformation of Ivy etc... It is an evolution of old ideas, transformed into new masterpieces for our times.

"The Prestige Technique" "the new way":

(1)-Step One: The original drawing is hand drawn, with graphite pencil on an 11”x17” sheet of bristol card stock paper.

(2)-Step Two: The original drawing is scanned, and formatted into a digital file.

(3)-Step Three: The scan of the original drawing is printed on canvas.

(4)-Step Four: The canvas print is soaked in a pool of water for 25-30 minutes. While the canvas is soaking a masonite wood panel is cut to the size of the printed canvas drawing.

(5)-Step Five: The canvas print of the drawing is mounted onto the masonite wood panel with acrylic glue, & squeegee.

(6)-Step Six: Once the drawing is set onto the masonite wood panel, Chris begins painting. Layers of tinted pigment are applied first, then layers of opaque pigment.

(7)-Step Seven: Once the painting is dry, Chris photographs the finished painting for producing prints, and archives.

(8)-Step Eight: After all of the photography is archived, then the original painting artifact is set in it's frame, and the original drawing is saved in archives. This creates two completed original works of Real Fantastic Art.
